2019 Bull Sale Report - Miracles can happen!

Volume buyer of the day was return client TVF Pastoral from Clermont in central QLD who took home a great draft of 13 bulls to a top of $14,000 for Lot 85 Texas Proceed N170 to average just under $9,000. Repeat commercial breeders Charlie and Jane Underwood of Moura QLD took home the third top priced bull Texas Mountain Man N518(AI)(ET) for $28,000 who was a son of Texas Mount K2 out of the leading donor team Texas Pride E30. It should be noted E30 has now sold 14 bulls for an average of $14,000. While the Kemp family from Backall QLD who have bought previously took home 11 bulls paying up to $25,000 for Lot 60 Texas Mountain Man N122(AI), $20,000 for the Lot 18 Texas Nights Watch N558(AI)(ET) and averaged just under $13,000.
Long term client of 21 years, Dave and Helen Lonegan of Mungindi NSW who has bought every year secured the 908kg Lot 77 Texas Discovery N522(AI)(ET) for $20,000. Dave believes this is the year to heavily invest in the top end of the sale in preparation of having quality genetics when the drought does break. This was his largest outlay for one bull in all the 21 years of buying! All 3 flush brothers of Lot 77 averaged just under $19,000 and N522’s dam Texas Toque J605’s 9 bulls sold at auction are currently averaging $15,500.

Ben and Wendy Mayne believe so many repeat commercial buyers returned this year was due to the fact the Texas bulls are renowned for surviving and thriving where many Angus bulls can’t. They were extremely proud of this year’s line-up for the consistency and being true to type. The general comment on the day was that the bulls present were not overdone with feed and the natural fleshing, thickness and muscularity across the draft was very impressive. The demand for the Texas paddock bulls has been incredibly strong with over half sold in 48 hours.
Ben and Wendy also believed their successful sale was a combined team effort with their dedicated staff member Hayden Chappel, their agents BJA, GDL, GTSM, Brenton Session, Falls Transport and Warialda APEX. All three Auctioneers including Michael Glasser, Lincoln McKinlay and Pete Brazier did an amazing job and without doubt would be the best in the business.
