What an Incredible Few Weeks Showcasing Australian Angus to the World
The World Angus Forum (WAF) was truly an event to remember – an unforgettable celebration of Australian Angus genetics, innovation, and community. A heartfelt thank you must go to everyone who made this global showcase possible, especially the dedicated team at Angus Australia, the board, and the WAF Organising Committee.
When Wendy returned from her first committee meeting two and half years ago, excitedly sharing the ambitious plans they had in store, we knew something special was brewing. Safe to say – they absolutely nailed the brief!
While we weren’t part of the official WAF tours, we were thrilled to welcome a steady stream of international visitors to Texas Angus, including breeders from Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, and Portugal. We met so many passionate, like-minded Angus enthusiasts and look forward to visiting their operations in the future.
Amidst the excitement of the WAF EXPO – the largest display of Angus cattle – and the conference, we also took a quick trip to Sydney for a very proud family moment: watching our daughter graduate with her Commerce Degree from Sydney University. A milestone we’ll treasure forever.
Here are a few snapshots from the past few weeks – moments of connection, celebration, and the global Angus community at its best.

At the EXPO we displayed 4 animals – 3 stud heifers to be offered as a pick of the pen at this years bull sale and a 5 year old herd bull Texas HANDYMAN R448. This eye catching 5-year-old bull was sold back in 2022 for $10,000 to a loyal local commercial client and has been used every season since then. We decided to take him to the World Angus Forum EXPO at Tamworth just show what a Texas bull can look like after 3 years of breeding – He is 100% grassfed, long as a train and the interest in him was massive .
WHY the HUGE interest you may ask?
Firstly, of the 500 registered Angus on display at the EXPO we were the only stud to showcase a 5-year-old herd bull that had been sold to a commercial client to be displayed against the latest genetics of the Angus breed! Visitors couldn’t get over R448’s sheer capacity, length of body, captivating appearance, temperament and incredible weight of 1,250kgs straight off grass with near perfect feet that is backed by structural correctness.
Secondly, they loved the commercial relevance that he was presented off grass, still fit, sound and working, ready for the next joining whilst knowing the average life of an Australian Angus bull is now only an incredible 4-5 years!!
