With standing room only, a huge crowd watched as our sale went down in the record books as the largest in our stud’s history – and to achieve a full clearance was nothing short of humbling. To think that we currently hold Australia’s largest single bull sale, selling 283 bulls with only a small workforce, makes the result all the more rewarding for our full-time team members Marcos and Declan.
Our 283 bulls averaged $16,233, topping at $75,000 for Lot 48 Texas U-CRACKER U983, purchased by Eungy Pastoral QLD. Long-term repeat client Chris Kemp returned after last year’s success with the $100,000 top-priced Texas TNT T317, once again securing our headline bull.
Queensland and NSW dominated the buying, with strong support also from WA, VIC, and NT. Highlights included:
· Lot 46 Texas UNDERDOG U1000 and Lot 47 Texas U-DAH MAN U317, both making $65,000, sold to Lunar Brangus/Ultra Blacks QLD and Santa Hat Santas QLD respectively.
· Plumthorpe Pastoral secured Lot 22 Texas DEADWOOD U999 ($47,500) and Lot 55 Texas VELOCITY V53 ($55,000).
· Two equal volume buyers – Dobkin Pastoral NSW and Tieyon Station NT – each took home 11 bulls, both valued repeat clients.
A special moment came when our PTIC heifer donated to the Angus Youth Foundation sold for $32,500 to return buyers Moorunga Angus VIC. Just two days later she calved down a healthy 25kg bull calf – perfectly timed! Big thanks to Angus Australia, Kate Reynolds for putting the video below together.
We were so proud of this year’s result – not only for the averages and top prices, but because every client, new and returning, was able to secure quality bulls from $6,000 upwards. The feedback was consistent: the draft of sale bulls was so even that “choosing was easy – they were all the same quality.”
