What an incredible night at the 2025 Colin Say & Co P/L & Bindaree Feeder Carcase Competition Awards dinner!
It was our first time participating, and we were thrilled to place 2nd and 3rd overall in the Angus Heifer and Steer Teams (120 days on feed) categories, respectively.
We came so close to taking out the highest daily weight gain of the entire competition with one of our steers placing 2nd to the Overall Champion missing the gong by 0.01kgs/day!
Our homebred heifer recorded the highest EMA for all heifers and was equal highest EMA across the entire competition of 360 entries (steers & heifers) from all breeds and crosses and marbled 5! This was a phenomenal result, and our steers did a clean sweep in the daily weights for the Angus section and marbled up to 5!

🥇 Highest EMA for a young heifer across all breeds and crosses (@96cm + marbled 5) – a full 6cm larger than any other heifer in the competition!
🥇 Equal highest EMA overall (matching a steer, with 360 entries in total)
🥈 2nd highest daily weight gain across all 360 entries, missing the champion by just 0.01kg/day

Entering a commercially relevant competition like this provides us a valuable opportunity to benchmark against not only Angus but also a wide range of other breeds and crosses, which reinforces our breeding program is on track.
