2010 Bull Sale report

Texas’s Best Yet!

Despite the worst weather conditions ever experienced at a Texas Sale, buyers flocked from across Australia to be a part of its best sale ever, topping at $14,000 and averaging $5,926. The sale topper Texas Connection D46 was quickly snapped up by the astute commercial cattleman Jim Moore of Burren Junction. D46 was one of 9 sons of the leading ET donor Texas Omnia Z171 whose progeny made an incredible $86,000 for the day. Jim and Pam Moore also took home Texas Topper D233 for $11,000.

The Skipper family of Ollera Station Guyra well known for their pure Hereford herd decided to cross with Angus and took home 8 bulls at an average $7,200. Bulls were sold right across the eastern sea board, as far south as Tasmania and right up into Northern Queensland.

40% of bulls were sold for $4,500 or less and, what was most pleasing to the Mayne family, were so many return buyers.
